Security & Base Access

EW Symposium


  • Base access. Present government-issued photo ID to enter the base, including passengers in vehicles. Depending on Force Protection measures in effect, vehicles may be randomly selected for inspection.


  • INFOSEC/OPSEC. EW Symposium classification is SECRET/ NOFORN. Wear EW Symposium badge and carry a photo ID with you. Cellular phones, radios, personal digital assistants (PDA), wireless email devices (Blackberry), cameras or any other audio/visual recording devices are prohibited. Backpacks, book bags, attaches, and other baggage may not be carried into Symposium facility (purses or small notebooks are OK). Packages and purses subject to search. Leave nonessential items in lodging or locked out-of-sight in your vehicle. Sentries will politely check to ensure no prohibited items enter Symposium facilities.


  • Traffic safety notes. Seatbelts mandatory for driver and all passengers. Hand-held cell phones and headsets not permitted while driving on base (hands-free speakerphone is OK). Full stop always required at crosswalks with flashing red light - even if crosswalk appears empty. WA law prohibits driver or passengers from possessing any open container of alcohol in the passenger compartment of a vehicle.
