Scholarship Banquet

EW Symposium

AOC Educational Foundation Banquet

Our annual Banquet held during the EW Symposium helps sustain our Roost’s scholarship fund.  Each year the Prowler Roost awards several competitive scholarships for graduating high school seniors seeking to continue their education in the fields of mathematics, hard sciences, and other disciplines directly related to the arts of EW & IO.  These scholarships are renewable annually up to four years as long as the student demonstrates good progress in an approved field of study.

Our banquet features a notable guest speaker and introduces our scholarship winners to you, their boosters.  We hope you will take advantage of this very popular evening and join the EW/IO community “movers and shakers” for dinner, drink, and dialogue.

Tickets are just $40 per person. Seating is open (i.e., not reserved) but full tables to accommodate eight (8) guests may be reserved under one name (organization name, for example) for $320 each.

There is generally no “head table” or dais since VIPs and other notables have expressed their preference to mix with the crowd. Groups or individuals wishing to invite a VIP or notable to a join a particular table should extend the invitation personally and well in advance.

After your very positive feedback last year, we will again serve from a buffet. Apparently you enjoy having the choice of several entrees and the opportunity to mix things up a bit!

This event sells out
very quickly during pre-registration. Seating is limited to 180 guests. Please reserve your seats now to avoid disappointment.

Guests with a sponsor are welcome to attend (remember to carry a government-issued photo ID) but each person must have a dinner ticket.

Anticipated flow for this year’s festivities:

  • No-Host cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m. in the famous O Club Bar
  • Dinner served at 7:00 p.m. (buffet)
  • Special Guest Speaker <TBA>
  • Introduce 2008 Scholarship winners
  • Presentations and peer recognition, including the ADM Grady Jackson EW Award.

Guests with special dietary considerations are encouraged to contact the AOC Banquet Coordinator so we may make suitable arrangements to ensure your satisfaction and comfort.

"Dressy casual" attire is preferred, making it comfortable for our travelers. (Suit, coat & tie, sport jacket, or even pressed Dockers with a nice sweater will work just fine. Blue jeans, coveralls, or welder helmets won't work.)

Please contact our if requesting special assistance or ADA accommodations.
